You are so right Jenny, generosity of spirit, forgivness and time is sometimes more important than money. The country would grind to a hault without volunteers. A smile to a stressed mother in a Supermarket queue doesn't cost anything! June Swain

What great advice! You should be on "Close Up" at this time of the year.I wish you had been around a few years ago when I had to go through the support stress of a parent five times. I must admit God did get a bit of a pounding on the quiet. It does help!

What I didn't really talk about was... the PARISHIONERS! As a community. How welcoming they might be, how friendly, the warmth they share, their kindness, their compassion - these people really are the parish. Without the wonderful people who actually GO to church, where would a church be?

Thanks, Jenny. Good musings on a vibrant parish. It is the combination of God and the faithful who make it work in various ways!

I look for a church where I can pray and not have a lot of chatter around me. They can do that before and after Mass. The homily is important to me if it makes the readings relevant. June.
